The students in my room love to build in the block area with the various blocks (wooden and/or foam). Students design various structures and what they design is amazing. Students need a rug to help them build their designs instead of building on the floor.
I teach in a K0/K1 Inclusion classroom and the students in my room are 4 and 5 year olds. My school is a public school located in an urban city with a high poverty rate and is considered low-income. The students in my room come from a variety of families and ethnic backgrounds. For most of my students this is their first experience in school.
The students are very active and love choice time and when they are allowed to build in the block area. I have seen a huge transformation in my students building abilities from September until now. The students need a rug for the block area so that the structures that they build will be more stable because the floor in which they are currently building on is slippery and the rug will help to make their buildings more stable. Students will be able to expand their creativity and building skills.
By obtaining this rug for the block area of my classroom it will help to expand the creativity and building interests of my students. This rug will help students be able to plan, design, and build more creative structures. « hide
